New Zealand’s top choice biscuit

New Zealand’s favourite biscuit is the Mallowpuff Original, a nationwide poll has decided.

Almost 5,000 voters – of which 94% were women – cast their votes for the country’s favourite biscuit in the national Bikkielections.

It was the fourth time the poll had been held, promoted by manufacturer Griffins, and 58 biscuits were included in the election.

For the first time since the Bikkielections began, every region was united, choosing the Mallowpuff as top biscuit, except for the Tasman electorate where Cookie Bear Hundreds and Thousands came out on top.

Weeks of campaigning via billboards, radio and street sampling preceded the poll before votes were collated via an online app.

Regional differences set apart the also-rans but those to feature in the top rankings included Hokey Pokey Squiggles, Macaroons and Toffee Pops Original.
